Melbourne’s first birth class to unite the expertise of both physiotherapists and midwives, this unique program offers a comprehensive, hands-on approach to childbirth education. Drawing on the deep knowledge of midwives from Frances Perry House and the physical expertise of physiotherapists, the class guides expectant parents through the physiological and emotional stages of pregnancy and labour. Midwives cover the stages of labour, pain relief options, and when interventions may be needed. Physiotherapists equip participants with movement and positioning techniques, pressure points, TENS, vocalisation, breathwork, and the often-overlooked but essential skill of how to push effectively.
This class goes beyond theory with real-world preparation: hands-on practice with birthing positions, experiencing a TENS machine, coaching for birth partners, and essential postpartum recovery tips for the pelvic floor and body. By integrating midwifery and physiotherapy, participants gain the physical, mental, and emotional tools to approach labour with confidence and strength. Join us and step into birth with empowerment and ease.
All classes are conducted in the OGCG rooms.
