Dr Leah Xu 1

Obstetrics and Gynaecology have always been Leah’s passion in medicine. As early as Leah’s university days, she has always been fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth. She feels lucky to have fallen in love with a field of medicine that can bring so much joy into families lives and feels very privileged to share such life changing moments with her patients. Leah enjoys getting to know each and every family throughout their pregnancy journey by taking her time at antenatal visits, so that her patients feel both comforted and educated. Leah understands the importance of individualised care for each person and is recognised for her warm and friendly, yet professional manner. Part of Leah’s care also includes regular scans in her consulting rooms. In particular, Leah performs third trimester growth scans at select appointments.

Born in Shanghai, China, Dr Xu migrated to Australia at the age of 12 with her family.  Leah completed her medical degree at University of Melbourne in 1997. Since then, she has completed her Specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training, and was awarded the Gold Medal for her performance in the Australian and New Zealand Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Specialist Examination. Leah subsequently undertook a fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Leah Xu offers pregnancy care in both English and Mandarin.
